Preliminary List of Requirements

With all the information that we gathered, we formed a list of requirements to guide our design process. This allowed us to start ideating possible solutions that could help with our case owner’s challenge and help minimize their pain. The list of requirements is divided into the categories of dimensions, functions, performance, materials and aesthetics.

The product shall be portable.
The product shall have designed based on the user body measurements.

The product shall have an adjustable posture mechanism.
The product shall prevent the user from leaning forward to perform an activity - straight up preferably.
The product shall allow the user to perform activities/actions without having to turn sideways.
The product shall not have the necessity to be carried on the back or on the shoulders.
The product shall be used within a closed proximity.
The product shall support the back of the body.
The product shall prevent the user from having a static posture.

Once we had an understanding of the context, through interviews, research, feedback, we could start with the next phase: Ideation to Concept. This first part of this phase, the initial ideation, was guided by the preliminary list of requirements.
